We are seeking proposals for presentations, workshops, and rants to celebrate the successes of community science in the Rocky Mountain region. Want to join us? Please review the categories below to decide which presentation type is best for you.
Presentations should focus on the following themes:
Community science from a participant perspective (presentations only)
Learning from your project’s successes or failures (presentations only)
Community science role models: how long-term or large community science platforms or programs have influenced your project design (presentations only)
Designing your program for success (workshops only)
Projects you’re excited about (rants only)
Presentations will be scheduled for 15 minutes (10 minutes to present & 5 minutes for questions). Please limit abstract to 200 words.
Rants will focus on one theme: projects you’re excited about! Please limit abstract to 100 words, and include the location of your project in the abstract.
There are two options for rants:
--For projects that do not yet exist: 5 minutes (including time for questions and discussions) about projects you’re passionate about and need help figuring out how to implement
--For existing projects: 1.5 minutes overview of your existing project (for those who are excited about a current project and want to share with the audience or future volunteers!)
Workshop presentations are scheduled for one to one and a half hours (1 - 1.5 hours). If you are experienced (and passionate about sharing your experience) in project assessment or project design, please submit a 300 word abstract. Workshop presentations should be interactive and leave participants prepped for applying the skills you’ve shared to their own projects.
Submissions will be accepted through 11:59 PM MST on October 10th, 2022. Proposals must be submitted through the online system included on this page. Abstracts are required for all presentation types.
After submission, abstracts will be reviewed and authors will be notified of decisions by the end of October 2022. Abstracts will be reviewed for clarity and relevance. The topic and take home message should be obvious for all abstracts.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Conference Coordinator: Mason Lee via email at mlee37@uwyo.edu.
